Two Days Until Holiday (And Confronting My Anxieties Head On Again!).

The flight to the Algarve is at 6.10 on Saturday morning (I’m tired just thinking about having to leave the house at 3!) and I’m really really excited but it’s still one of those things where my anxieties come up and try to make me feel fear but hey, if I was paying attention in the first place, I would never have booked the holiday so the fact I’m all booked in is already progress to me and I’m thrilled about that!

In my eyes, it’s not about being totally over the anxieties, it’s about not letting them take over when they come up, so when I feel the familiar anxious feeling in my stomach, I start taking deep breaths and make sure that I don’t dwell on the negative thoughts and instead focus on the really positive ones, like the fact that I’ll be in a hotel by a beautiful beach and even though the weather isn’t necessarily going to be boiling hot, it’ll be much better than the UK!  More than anything though, I get to go back to my roots because my mother is Portuguese and I haven’t spent nearly enough time in her home country and I’m truly happy about being able to do something about that now.  I’ll also continue to do yoga every day so that should hopefully balance out the naughty anxious bits of my brain!

Any hoo, I’ve decided that to really enjoy the holiday, blogging will be limited to photo blogs each day as I don’t want to spend all my time on the laptop!
