My Three Quarter-Yearly Progress Update – October 2012
1. I started my new job! Despite various hurdles and issues, I’m nearly in my 6th week of it and though there are issues, I do not regret leaving my old job and feel excited about the future, even if it’s just the fact that not being 100% sure about the new job is making me feel more motivated to try to make progress with my websites and do more writing.
2. I’ve started my advanced photography class. It’s definitely another level because we’re having to think more. For example, this week’s (08/10/12) assignment is to take a photograph with meaning. I have a plan for it, whether it will look good I don’t know but I love the creative thought processes that I’m being forced through, they’re really making me think and we have an exhibition to prepare for. It’s when I’m on holiday but the fact is that I’m still going to go through the same motions as everybody and it can be on a subject of our choice which thrills me no end, though it’s hard to limit what I want to photograph!
3. I’m starting to like the photos I’m taking. For quite some time I was taking photos, editing them but not being 100% happy with the results but having finished the Beginner’s SLR course and started the advanced course, I seem to be making some progress: below are two of my favourites so far because of the dreamy quality:
5.I’ve been writing mini movie-reviews. It’s been quite a recent development where I review the films I’ve been watching at the cinema (and we watch a lot as we have Unlimited cinema cards!) and it’s a bit of a fun way to help me seize the day – I’m not one to watch loads of TV so this is a great escape between working on the more intense ways to develop myself!
Carpe Diem!
