October’s Random Act Of Kindness

2 yokes and one plastic bottle picked up and disposed of.  After my rant, back in March, I was pretty incised when on my way to walk, right by a castle, people keep throwing these yokes on the ground:

instead of putting them in the bin, which is merely a few feet away, instead.  I just can’t understand the laziness or idiocy behind dumping rubbish on the ground.  I know, I’m ranting again but it’s just beyond me that the human race has evolved so well in some ways and so poorly in others, it’s pretty depressing.

Anyway, so I did my bit:

Rubbish Bin

Rubbish Bin

And yes, I could probably go into the fact that most of what is in that bin could be recycled but at this point, I’ll stick to the small mercy of the fact that the items are in the bin, instead of on the streets and hope that by doing my small bit to both pick up dangerous bits of rubbish, like yokes, disposing of them properly and recycling my waste at home., I’ll help matters, even if it’s just by a little.
I’ve also got to the point where I’ve realised, buying my food shopping on the day or for just a couple of days, means I’m ending up with less wasted food then when I buy for a week ahead.  Basically, not being a meal planner, I used to just buy random bits and pieces but some would go unused and I’d feel really guilty.  Now I just buy what we feel like for the evening’s dinner and that’s it.  I’ll still buy my breakfast and lunch ahead of time but this works better and I don’t have to spend so long in the supermarket in one go, which is brilliant! Happy Wednesday!LoveJen
