“A picture is a secret about a secret, the more it tells you the less you know.” Diane Arbus
And it’s so good to be back at the class!
My mind feels stimulated all over again and though I’ve been practicing photos here and there, like my recent beach shots but not to specifically help develop different aspects of photography and not with additional information so getting back into the educational environment was pretty exciting.
This week was mainly about getting to know our different classmates and their photographic goals and interests (I only knew 2 out of the other 9 students), laying out the course for us (we’ll be choosing our own long term assignments to focus on, which I think will be pretty great as I can hopefully develop specific areas that I love and get plenty of practice in and we’ll also do a couple of exhibitions at the college which is slightly scary but exciting too. All in all a great first day back at group, despite my teacher not knowing who my favourite photographer is (Robert Doisneau), even though he’s on the list of photographers that he gave us…..granted, half the fun of the class is teasing the teacher so it added to the fun.
Anyway, like I say, glad to be back and here’s to becoming a better, more talented, more creative photographer!
