John: [calling 911] This guy took my teddy bear!
John: Hello? Hello?
For some reason I wish to start this review with an apology. So sorry in advance.
Right now that that’s done, we saw Ted this evening which is basically a film about a teddy bear that comes to life, which sounds like a family comedy which this certainly is not!
All you need to know is that it comes from the creator of Family Guy, American Dad and The Cleveland Show.
So the Positives:
- Giovanni Ribisi’s dancing
- Seth MacFarlane. Full stop.
- Flash Gordon.
- Ryan Reynolds’ cameo. It was pure brilliance!
- If you’re easily offended than you just won’t like it!
In conclusion: The humour is dark, rude and crude but it is honestly laugh out loud funny the entire way through the film. Lee and I didn’t stop laughing and that could say more about our personalities than the film but I think that as long as you can take this kind of comedy for the silly, clever yet daft entertainment that it’s meant to be than you’ll have as much fun as we did watching it!
